Major Medical is currently accepting resumes for a PART TIME Dietitian/ Clinical Nutrition Support Specialist in our Lakewood office. The ideal candidate will work 20 hours per week. The Registered Dietitian is a qualified licensed professional who is responsible for the development and implementation of clinical and marketing strategies to promote the home nutrition support (enteral and parenteral nutrition) Program. This position supports sales activity, account relationships and clinical requirements. It also maintains a cohesive relationship with office clinical and sales staff to maximize the effectiveness of the office’s nutrition program.

Core Responsibilities:

·         Coordinates all aspects of care for home enteral therapy patients including monitoring nutrition status, conducting nutrition assessments, and working with referral sources, physicians, insurance companies and home health agencies to optimize patient clinical outcomes.

·         Serves as a clinical resource to patients, staff, and external customers regarding enteral services and the nutritional needs of patients currently receiving or potentially needing home enteral therapy.

·         Grows enteral therapy business line through developing and leveraging key relationships within the community.

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Reviews new enteral therapy patients and ensures clinical appropriateness of products and services ordered.

·         Performs enteral teaching with patient and caregivers on tube site care and administering enteral therapy via bolus, gravity and pump.

·         Conducts nutrition assessments and develops appropriate care plans through communicating recommendations with physicians and other members of patient’s health care team.

·         Markets home enteral therapy services in conjunction with other key business lines to hospitals, clinics, and physician offices.

·         Develops and maintains relationships with physicians, discharge planners, social workers, dietitians, and other key referral sources to facilitate smooth patient transitions to home.

·         Identifies cross-selling opportunities with current key focus products and programs (vents, incontinence, power wheelchairs, etc.)

·         Provides clinical sales support by conducting in-services or educational training programs with external customers.

·         Identifies opportunities for improvement in patient care and works with internal and external customers to maximize clinical outcomes.

·         Provides on-going education and training on enteral equipment, supplies and formula to staff and referral partners.

·         Demonstrates a courteous and respectful attitude to all customers and referral sources, handling all questions, complaints and concerns.

·         Maintains confidentiality of patient information.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

·         Part Time (20 hours per week), may require some evening or weekend hours.

·         Requires day travel throughout the state of Colorado

Competencies:

·         Proficient with software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

·         Excellent communication skills in person, on the phone, and in writing

·         Ability to organize, monitor, and track numerous ongoing activities

·         Discretion in handling and communicating sensitive information

·         Understanding of insurance requirements

·         Strong customer service experience

Preferred Requirements:

·         Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Food/Nutrition or Dietetics.

·         Must be a current Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) as confirmed by the Commission of Dietetics Registration.

·         Must have one year of Home healthcare nutrition experience (i.e. G/J/NG Tubes, Pump, and Formula Knowledge & Experience).

·         One year of selling healthcare services, preferred

·         Must possess a valid and current driver’s license and auto insurance.

·         Must physically be able to work on computer, handle papers, and move Must have one year of Home healthcare nutrition experience (i.e. G/J/NG Tubes, Pump, and Formula Experience).  throughout building with equipment.

·         Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a background investigation
