Major Medical is currently accepting resumes for a Complex Intake and Qualification Specialist in our busy Denver office. This position will be responsible for obtaining, validating and compiling all medical documentation needed to qualify, dispense and bill complex respiratory items. This will include working with referral offices to obtain scripts, chart notes or any other needed item, includes working with internal team to qualify patient and includes requesting, obtaining and entering of authorization. They will be responsible for compiling all billing information to management to make an educated decision on servicing of patient. This is a full-time position.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Scanning Patient Files
  • Obtain authorizations and documentation
  • Complete & Accurate Intake and Insurance Verification
  • Product Knowledge
  • Take incoming patient calls
  • Act as liaison between patient, physician office, and insurance company to assist with regards to financial responsibility
  • Notify all scheduled patients of their financial responsibility prior to their date of service
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits using technology tools, the telephone and the internet to ensure compliance with the facilities policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with insurance providers and the physician office to obtain pre-authorizations. Document these findings as instructed.
  • Obtain information for medical necessity determination and coordinate with the physician office if additional information is needed
  • Communicate with patients to obtain any missing information necessary to achieve financial clearance
  • Perform Benefit verifications on all new patients
  • Cross train as required to assist with overflow responsibilities
  • Exhibit flexibility in work schedules and assigned tasks
  • Maintain minimal error rate
  • Maintain productivity as requested by Management
  • Maintain supplies and forms necessary to perform duties
  • Obtain and verify patient demographic and financial information
  • Participates in group meetings and One on One’s
  • Establish problem-solving dialogue with Supervisor
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward position and responsibilities
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management

Required Skills & Experience

·        Previous durable medical equipment (DME) experience is preferred

·        1 years of customer service or comparable experience

·        Must be dedicated to providing outstanding customer service

·        Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions and correspondences

·        High level of attention to detail

·        Ability to work independently and in team environment

Competencies:

·        Proficient with software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

·        Excellent communication skills in person, on the phone, and in writing

·        Ability to organize, monitor, and track numerous ongoing activities

·        Discretion in handling and communicating sensitive information

·        Understanding of insurance requirements

·        Strong customer service experience
