Major Medical is accepting resumes for Customer Service Representative (CSR).  CSR’s handle inbound calls from hospitals, physician’s offices, various other clinical facilities, and customers. Our customer service staff provides assistance through the ordering process and provides status updates.  CSR’s are also responsible for processing paperwork in a timely manner into our internal computer system and generating all delivery paperwork for orders. This is a full-time position.

Our home medical equipment and respiratory experts are here to evaluate customers’ individual needs, and help them find the most beneficial products and services. We are here to assist with consultation, selection and fitting of products, training and instruction.

Core Responsibilities:

·         Responsible for receiving and processing telephone and fax requests from referral sources and patients to provide durable medical equipment

·         Responsible for obtaining all pertinent intake information to enter orders accurately and efficiently

·         Maintain working relationship with doctor offices and referral sources

·         Answer multi-line phone system efficiently and direct the patient to the correct person and/or department they need

·         Meeting and making a connection with customers, asking questions and listening to needs, then giving options and advice on meeting those needs

·         Develop product knowledge by reading current vendor tags and pamphlets and attending training classes in order to communicate it to the customer

·         Complete accurate insurance verification and updating patient files

·         Discretion in handling and communicating sensitive information

·         Add-on sales/being able to build a sale

·         On-Call Rotation

·         All other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience

·         Previous durable medical equipment (DME) experience is preferred

·         1 years of customer service or comparable experience

·         Must be dedicated to providing outstanding customer service

·         Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions and correspondences

·         High level of attention to detail

·         Ability to work independently and in team environment

Competencies:

·         Proficient with software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

·         Excellent communication skills in person, on the phone, and in writing

·         Ability to organize, monitor, and track numerous ongoing activities

·         Discretion in handling and communicating sensitive information

·         Understanding of insurance requirements

·         Strong customer service experience

Must have qualities:

Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

·         The ability to operate a 14-16 foot truck in a safe manner is essential

·         The ability to follow a city map and navigate a new daily route is required

·         Strong interpersonal skills and customer service skills are necessary as is the ability to remain customer service oriented during situations in which patients or caregivers may be frustrated or upset

·         The ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions is required to ensure accurate completion of DME deliveries, exchanges and pick-ups

·         Working knowledge and experience with smart phones is required to relay information to customer service and perform on-call coverage

·         Ability to utilize basic tools e.g., wrench, screwdrivers etc. to set up durable medical equipment

Physical Requirements and Demands:

·         Lifting – up to 70 lbs

·         Bending, climbing, standing, sitting for long periods of time

·         Regular and continuous eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity is required to set up durable medical equipment.

·         Frequent bending, twisting, grasping and squeezing and occasional kneeling. Climbing stairs, reaching above the shoulder is required to retrieve, store and set up durable medical equipment

·         Ability to use basic tools (e.g. screwdrivers, wrench, etc.) to set up durable medical equipment
